Recap: Wasatch Wasps vs. North Summit Braves
It was a good run, but the Wasatch Wasps unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Summit. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wasatch in their matchups with North Summit: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Wasps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashley Garner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Garner scored a full 29.4% of Wasatch's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Fili Liava'a, who scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Hartlynn Richins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Summit, scoring 23 points along with 7 steals. Richins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayzlyn Murdock, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wasatch's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for North Summit, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Morgan the next time they take the court. North Summit will host Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Wasatch will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
