Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stamford). They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers on Monday. With that win, the Black Knights brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Vangeli Kelesidis looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Stamford let CJ Berlingo and Travis Fuchs run wild. Berlingo went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Fuchs went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That triple marked the first that Berlingo has hit this season. Noe Mercedes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Stamford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Stamford and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Bridgeport Central, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
