League recap: Briar Woods extends winning streak with victory over Loudoun County

AA Dulles recap Nov. 7, 2012

Briar Woods extended the longest winning streak in AA Dulles this week by beating Loudoun County, 45-0. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.

Potomac Falls made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,222 from 6,430. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-17 victory over Dominion last week.

Briar Woods' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trace McSorley threw for 148 and two touchdowns and Cameron Serigne had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Cory Colder chipped in 73 yards. JT Logan helped Briar Woods' passing attack out by catching two balls for 19 yards.

Briar Woods' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. McSorley has thrown for 1789 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Serigne has 37 catches for 665 yards. Colder leads the league in rushing with 835 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Raiders take on Woodgrove. As it stands, Loudoun County is in third, while the Wolverines are in fourth.

Charlie Pierce's team led AA Dulles in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Todd Hill's team. McSorley ran for 53 yards in the win.
