Baseball Game Preview: Stigler Panthers vs. Ketchum Warriors

The Stigler Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Ketchum Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Stigler took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Broken Bow get on the board and left with a 6-0 win.

Not much got past Tj Kettles, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Broken Bow off the board.

At the plate, Stigler's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was C Eakle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Latch Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ketchum waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Cougars.

Ketchum pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Stigler, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.
