Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is 7-2 against Sullivan since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will welcome the Redskins at 4:30 p.m. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 19) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Cumberland 9-7. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
SOPHIA MONTS was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. MONTS was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sullivan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Villa Grove on Monday as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Redskins have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, Sullivan also got a great game from a two-way player: Aeralyn Thrasher. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Thrasher has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harmony Ray, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karson Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Sullivan's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Sullivan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Sullivan, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's sizable advantage in that area, the Redskins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond skirted past Sullivan 6-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
