Recap: Richton Rebels vs. East Central Hornets
The Richton Rebels's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against East Central by a score of 40-33. That's another feather in the cap for Richton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Richton found their leader in underclassman Nylah Robins, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. The match was Robins' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dantasia Morris, who scored three points along with nine rebounds.
Richton's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for East Central, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Richton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Purvis at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Purvis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. As for East Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Gautier at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Gautier is ranked 263rd, while East Central is ranked 281st).
