Basketball Recap: Seneca Calderon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pembroke over Byron-Bergen

Pembroke lost against Byron-Bergen back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pembroke Dragons received a blow as they fell 51-33 to the Byron-Bergen Bees. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Bees are ranked 186th).

Pembroke lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Seneca Calderon, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Coniber, who earned eight points.

Pembroke now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Byron-Bergen, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pembroke will host Attica at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Byron-Bergen, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Gananda Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th.
