Basketball Recap: Evansville Christian Takes a Loss

Evansville Christian and Springs Valley squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Evansville Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Springs Valley Blackhawks by a score of 50-47. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Evansville Christian lost, don't look at Kaden Naab. Despite the final result, he shot 62% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most assists Naab has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Redd, who put up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Naab wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Evansville Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Evansville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Springs Valley, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-17.
