Basketball Recap: Crystal City Skates Past Valley with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DeSoto, Crystal City was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 63-31 win over the Valley Vikings. The Hornets pushed the score to 45-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had little chance of recovering from.

Leading Crystal City to victory were Addison Bova and Carly Roussin. Bova went 9 for 15 on her way to 22 points, while Roussin went 11 of 25 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Reiter, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points.

The victory got Crystal City back to even at 4-4. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal City will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bishop DuBourg at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clearwater at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
