Volleyball Recap: Mount Academy Eagles vs. Port Jefferson Royals
With a playoff game on the line, Mount Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Port Jefferson Royals by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20.
Mount Academy had a senior duo take command as Jahyeon ( PJ) Lee had 20 digs and Rayann Bazeley had 12 digs. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Lee.
Mount Academy kept the net locked down and finished the game with 14 blocks. That's the most blocks they've managed all season.
Mount Academy's victory bumped their record up to 34-5-4.
After both having extra time off, Mount Academy and Portville will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another on Saturday. Mount Academy is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season. Port Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
