Basketball Recap: Propel Montour Comes Up Short

Propel Montour lost against Geibel Catholic back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Propel Montour Legends were beaten by the Geibel Catholic Gators 80-46. The contest marked the Legends' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Evan Strimel, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 30 points and four steals for Geibel Catholic. Strimel's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Tarbuk, who went 5 for 9 en route to 10 points along with six assists and four steals.

Propel Montour is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Geibel Catholic, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Propel Montour will venture away from home to square off against Environmental Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Geibel Catholic, they will head out to face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Geibel Catholic is facing Mt. Pleasant at the right time seeing as Mt. Pleasant is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
