Softball Recap: Chalker Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Chalker waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bloomfield Cardinals get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Wednesday.

Tatum Hudak made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Abby Grimm was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Bailey Ann Bussey was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Chalker's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bloomfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Chalker will square off against Brookfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bloomfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lordstown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
