Basketball Recap: Pine City Comes Up Short

Pine City was the 74-58 winner over Aitkin when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pine City Dragons took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aitkin Gobblers on Friday.

Pine City's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Aitkin, they pushed their record up to 6-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Pine City will head out on the road to square off against North Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pine City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully North Branch likes a good challenge. As for Aitkin, they will welcome McGregor at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
