Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newman Central Catholic walked away with it. They won by a set and slipped past the Sherrard Tigers 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Comets, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Lauren McClain paced Newman Central Catholic's offense, picking up ten kills. McClain got some help from Brooklyn Smith and her 32 assists.

The win got Newman Central Catholic back to even at 18-18. As for Sherrard, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 28-5-1 record.

Coming up, Newman Central Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sherrard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
