Softball Recap: Hayward Farmers vs. Mt. Eden Monarchs
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hayward's offense. They came up short against the Mt. Eden Monarchs on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The Farmers haven't had much luck with the Monarchs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Hayward saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Norman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Norman's first of the season.
Hayward's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mt. Eden, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Coming up, Hayward will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Mt. Eden, they will face off against Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Monarchs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
