Basketball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood lost against Bedford North Lawrence back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Edgewood Mustangs fell 61-54 to the Bedford North Lawrence Stars. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Edgewood still got an impressive performance from Carson Huttenlocker, who went 7 for 11 en route to 19 points. That's the most points Huttenlocker has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamren Ranard, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Edgewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood will host West Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jeffersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jeffersonville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bedford North Lawrence surely won't give up without a fight.
