Basketball Recap: Grove City Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grove City Christian had lost four straight headed into Friday's matchup, but Rylee Thompson didn't let it get to five. The Grove City Christian Eagles walked away with a 41-28 win over the Gilead Christian Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Thompson, who posted 20 points and five steals. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Karlich, who put up five points in addition to nine boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played.

Grove City Christian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Gilead Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Grove City Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-24 loss against Briggs on the 28th. As for Gilead Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crestline at 1:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025.
