Volleyball Recap: Fillmore Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against H&H on Tuesday, Fillmore Central came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Seward Bluejays on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bluejays: they've now lost six in a row.

While Fillmore Central was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-23, 25-9.

Jordyn Stassines paced Fillmore Central's offense, picking up four kills. Stassines got some help from Allie Myers and her four assists. Finally, Myers was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Fillmore Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Seward, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore Central will square off against Sutton at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Seward, they will challenge Elkhorn at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
