Basketball Game Preview: Camanche Indians vs. Maquoketa Cardinals

The Camanche Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Maquoketa Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Camanche ended up a good deal behind Northeast and lost 71-53. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Maquoketa challenged Monticello on Tuesday. Maquoketa lost 61-35 to Monticello. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Panthers are ranked 100th).

Camanche's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Maquoketa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Camanche couldn't quite finish off Maquoketa in their previous matchup back in January and fell 65-63. Can Camanche avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
