Basketball Game Preview: Mohave Thunderbirds vs. Flagstaff Eagles

Mohave hasn't had much luck against Flagstaff recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Mohave Thunderbirds take on the Flagstaff Eagles at 5:30 p.m.

Mohave is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Prescott, falling 66-14. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Badgers are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Flagstaff against Lee Williams on Thursday as the team secured a 64-23 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 25 points or more this season.

Mohave's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Flagstaff, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Mohave was dealt a bruising 65-9 defeat at the hands of Flagstaff when the teams last played on January 7th. Can Mohave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
