Baseball Recap: Raymondville Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Raymondville was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell just short of the Lyford Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearkats of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Raymondville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-8. As for Lyford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-7.

Coincidentally, Raymondville and Lyford will both be playing Rio Hondo the next time they take the field. Raymondville will head out to face Rio Hondo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Lyford will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
