Shakamak has gone 9-1 against Bloomfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. Bloomfield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Shakamak, who comes in off a win.

Shakamak will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Linton-Stockton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lakers blew past the Miners 9-1 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Lakers have won by exactly eight runs.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Northeast Dubois on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jeeps by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals have struggled against the Jeeps recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Dillon Warnick spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Bloomfield's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Bloomfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Yake, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Shakamak, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Shakamak beat Bloomfield 5-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
