Basketball Recap: Liberty Common Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Liberty Common can now relate to. They were beaten by the Centauri Falcons 61-20 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Falcons are ranked 34th).

Emily Geyser was Liberty Common's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Liberty Common is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16. As for Centauri, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Liberty Common does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centauri, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ellicott at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centauri's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Ellicott's offense will have their work cut out for them.
