Softball Recap: Randolph County Takes a Loss

Randolph County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shelby County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Randolph County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Huckeba, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Bryer Thompson was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Randolph County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Shelby County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Coincidentally, Randolph County and Shelby County will both be playing Vincent the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Yellow Jackets at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 4:40 p.m.
