Basketball Game Preview: Longmont Trojans vs. Broomfield Eagles

The Longmont Trojans will square off against the Broomfield Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longmont is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

Longmont is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing D'Evelyn: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Longmont blew D'Evelyn out of the water with a 62-28 final score. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Joey Foot went supernova for Longmont, going 9 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Foot has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Northouse, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Broomfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horizon.

Broomfield's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Longmont, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Longmont didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Broomfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory. Will Longmont repeat their success, or does Broomfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
