Basketball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

Highlands lost against Murphy last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Highlands Highlanders fell just short of the Murphy Bulldogs by a score of 35-32. While the Highlanders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 10-4 in the first quarter.

Highlands' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Murphy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highlands will venture away from home to take on Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Murphy, they will take on Blue Ridge Early College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
