Basketball Recap: Gadsden Comes Up Short

Gadsden played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls 68-27. The Panthers have struggled against the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Alexander Lopez and Jose Alvarez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Lopez posted six points and five rebounds, while Alvarez earned six points. Alvarez is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Gadsden's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carlsbad, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Gadsden will venture away from home to take on Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Irvin will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Gadsden surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carlsbad, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-38 win against Alamogordo on the 12th.
