Softball Game Preview: Oneonta Redskins vs. Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils

The Oneonta Redskins will challenge the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oneonta gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Kate Duncan Smith DAR. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redskins.

Oneonta saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexie Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Millie Simmons was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Oneonta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kate Duncan Smith DAR only posted an OBP of .292.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mortimer Jordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past Hayden 6-4. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alyssa Hays A. spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mortimer Jordan got a big performance out of Amber Williston, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Williston launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Liveoak, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Mortimer Jordan back to even at 6-6. As for Oneonta, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
