Sherwood strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Kennedy Cavaliers 20-2. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.
Reagan Corb and Cara Farr made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Corb struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Farr pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Corb went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Farr scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Sherwood got a massive performance out of Avery Anderson, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiera Schlurz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Sherwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sherwood pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coming up, Sherwood will challenge Poolesville on Friday. As for Kennedy, they will square off against Einstein on Thursday.
