Basketball Recap: Bevier Comes Up Short

Bevier lost against Norborne back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bevier Wildcats took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norborne Pirates. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Norborne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avi Leabo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Leabo has scored at least a third of Norborne's points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Mansur, who posted six points and nine boards.

Bevier's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Norborne, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.

Bevier will challenge Breckenridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bevier is facing Breckenridge at the right time seeing as Breckenridge is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Norborne has already played their next match (against Braymer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
