Volleyball Game Preview: Ocean Springs Greyhounds vs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots

The Ocean Springs Greyhounds will face off against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Ocean Springs has three wins , while Madison-Ridgeland Academy has nine dating back to last season).

On Friday, Ocean Springs earned a 2-0 victory over Starkville.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Ocean Springs was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-10.

If West Memphis Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Keira Hariel. The Patriots put the hurt on the Black Knights with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday thanks in part to Hariel, who had 16 assists and two aces. Hariel is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

While Madison-Ridgeland Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-10, 25-22.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Ocean Springs, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Ocean Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison-Ridgeland Academy in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
