Recap: Lutheran Lions vs. Northfield Nighthawks
The Lutheran Lions won the last time they faced the Northfield Nighthawks, and things went their way on Friday too. Lutheran walked away with a 32-20 victory over Northfield. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lutheran.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryken Daugaard, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Lutheran also got help from Ben Herbek who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Northfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Love. Despite the final result, he threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Northfield, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran will face off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Northfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
