Soccer Recap: Everglades Comes Up Short

Everglades was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Somerset Academy Panthers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Panthers are ranked 89th).

Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Somerset Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Everglades wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Western on the 14th. As for Somerset Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Franklin Academy on the 13th.
