Football Recap: West Oaks Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home

West Oaks Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Specially Fit Academy Rams 40-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Flame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 484th, while the Rams are ranked 212th).

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Oaks Academy is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Marco Island Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Specially Fit Academy, they will head out to square off against Lake Wales at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
