Volleyball Game Preview: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Pleasant Grove Eagles

The Monterey Trail Mustangs will take on the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monterey Trail comes in on three and Pleasant Grove on five.

Last Thursday, Monterey Trail made easy work of Franklin and carried off a 3-0 win.

Monterey Trail not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Franklin between 16 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Mary's on Friday, taking the game 3-1.

Pleasant Grove was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14, 20-25, 25-12.

Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Monterey Trail, their record is now 14-5.

Monterey Trail beat Pleasant Grove 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
