After flying high against Granville Christian Academy on Thursday, Madison Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Shekinah Christian Flames by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Madison Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Shekinah Christian work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 27-25, 25-12, 14-25, 15-10.

Scholz Lily paced Madison Christian's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lily got some help from Yao Chloe and her 20 assists. Turner Caitlyn controlled things from the service line, finishing with ten aces.

Shekinah Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eleyna Beachy out in front who had 21 digs and one block. Beachy has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 36 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haylee Beachy, who had 26 digs and two assists.

Madison Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Shekinah Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Madison Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Berne Union on the 15th. As for Shekinah Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Delaware Christian on the 16th.
