Football Recap: Noah Reif's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Michigan Lutheran Seminary over Valley Lutheran

Michigan Lutheran Seminary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 31-21 to the Valley Lutheran Chargers. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Reif, who picked up 142 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one rushing score. Reif was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 63 yards. Andrew Miller was another key passer, throwing for 169 yards and one TD on only 15 passes.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Valley Lutheran, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Michigan Lutheran Seminary will take on Carrollton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Valley Lutheran, they will square off against Ithaca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Yellowjackets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
