Volleyball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Vero Beach Indians, falling 3-0. If the Cobras were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Indians when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-10.

Among those leading the charge was Sara Maresca, who had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last six matchups. Tori Malone also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Vero Beach, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Cardinal Newman on the 26th. As for Vero Beach, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Jensen Beach on the 30th.
