Basketball Recap: Manteno Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Manteno's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Clifton Central Comets by a score of 61-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-54 back in December of 2024.

Manteno is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Clifton Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Manteno will take on Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clifton Central, they will challenge Beecher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beecher knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Clifton Central likes a good challenge.
