Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Hoyas vs. Newton Rams

The Harrison Hoyas will face off against the Newton Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Harrison sitting on five straight victories and Newton on three.

Harrison is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Cambridge: they outscored them in every quarter. Harrison walked away with a 55-46 win over Cambridge on Friday. Given the Hoyas' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Bears are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Newton posted their closest victory since February 12, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged Galloway out 53-50.

Harrison pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Newton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Harrison beat Newton 67-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Does Harrison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
