Sneads is a perfect 10-0 against Cottondale since September of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pirates will welcome the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Thursday, Sneads came up short against Marianna and fell 3-1.
While Sneads had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Despite their defeat, Sneads saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. LaRay Gibbs, who had 43 digs and three aces, was perhaps the best of all. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. Morgan Veilleux was another key player, getting 24 digs, three aces, and one block.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cottondale's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Godby by a score of 3-2. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-18 in the first set.
Cottondale actually scored more points across those five sets (98-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 18-25, 14-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-8.
Cottondale's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Sneads, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Sneads took their victory against Cottondale in their previous matchup back in August by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
