Recap: Greenacres Christian Panthers vs. Avant Garde Academy Sharks
The Greenacres Christian Panthers never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against the Avant Garde Academy Sharks on Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 65-64 photo finish over the Sharks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Greenacres Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Greenacres Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Mine out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Mine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Barthelemy, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Greenacres Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-7-1. As for Avant Garde Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenacres Christian will take on Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Avant Garde Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Academy for Innovative Education at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Academy for Innovative Education focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 back in December of 2023.
