Baseball Recap: South Mecklenburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

South Mecklenburg entered their tilt with Palisades on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Palisades Pumas by a score of 8-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Brayden Bartholomew tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed over his last four games.

On the hitting side, Chris Short was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Andrew Gerow was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.

South Mecklenburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palisades only managed three hits.

South Mecklenburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.33 hits in those games compared to only 5.63 in the others. As for Palisades, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
