Recap: Milford Mavericks vs. Salem Rocks
The Milford Mavericks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 69-63 victory over Salem. Given Milford's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Salem is ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Salem lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Peters, who scored 22 points along with five assists. The match was Peters' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Mitchell Robillard was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Milford's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Salem, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Milford will finish 2023 at home by hosting Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
