Laguna Creek has gone a perfect 9-0 against West Campus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Laguna Creek Cardinals will look to defend their home field against the West Campus Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Laguna Creek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Del Campo on Tuesday. Laguna Creek put the hurt on Del Campo with a sharp 14-4 victory. The game marked the Cardinals' most dominant win of the season so far.

Laguna Creek got a massive performance out of Azariah Maddox, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Rials, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Maddox wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Laguna Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, West Campus had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over Bradshaw Christian.

The team relied heavily on Moriah Williams, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Milana Hess, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Laguna Creek's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Campus, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Laguna Creek took their win against West Campus when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0. Will Laguna Creek repeat their success, or does West Campus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
