Basketball Game Preview: Geary Bison vs. Okeene Whippets

Geary hasn't had much luck against Okeene recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Geary Bison will look to defend their home court against the Okeene Whippets at 8:00 p.m. Geary will be strutting in after a victory while Okeene will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Geary didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Corn Bible Academy, but they still walked away with a 58-53 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bison.

Meanwhile, Okeene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Dover 57-29. While losing is never fun, the Whippets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Longhorns are ranked 97th).

Geary has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Okeene, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Geary didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Okeene when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory. Will Geary repeat their success, or does Okeene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
