Softball Recap: Wasilla's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Wasilla was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Palmer on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Moose with a sharp 15-2 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Rylee Harris made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Wasilla got a massive performance out of Avery Cook, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Cook a new career-high. Madelyn Collins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Wasilla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wasilla moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Wasilla will square off against Kenai Central at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Palmer, they will face off against Sitka at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
