Volleyball Recap: Maize Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maize can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washburn Rural Blues on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blues this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-21.

Brylee Lindgren paced Maize's offense, picking up five kills. Lindgren got some help from Ellie Wisdom and her seven assists.

Maize dropped their record down to 17-21 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Washburn Rural, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Maize nor Washburn Rural have any future games scheduled.
