Recap: De Queen Leopards vs. Lakeside Rams
This season hasn't been kind to The De Queen Leopards, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by Lakeside 48-14 on Friday. De Queen was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Lakeside had a senior duo take command as Nick Woodlief rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries and Jacob Hermosillo threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
De Queen's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.9 points per game. As for Lakeside, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
De Queen will head out on the road to face off against Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than De Queen in Arkansas (Magnolia is ranked 43rd, while De Queen is ranked 148th). As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Parkview at 7:00 p.m. Parkview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 323 points over their last six contests.
