Basketball Recap: Reece Starnes Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Butler lost to Rocky River two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Butler Bulldogs came out on top against the Rocky River Ravens by a score of 77-68.

Butler's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reece Starnes, who went 7-for-10 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Starnes has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaiah White, who scored 11 points and five boards.

Butler was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Rocky River's also-impressive total of ten.

Rocky River lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Ross, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Walton, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points along with six assists and four steals.

Butler's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Rocky River, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.

Butler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-61 victory against Charlotte Catholic on the 20th. Rocky River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
